Chico’s Slice of Paradise in Northern California

Not only is Chico a charming, friendly city, it boasts a great View of Paradise—the city of Paradise, that is! The old Honey Run Covered Bridge once functioned as the stagecoach road from Chico to Paradise City. Located in Butte Creek Canyon, you’ll find some of California’s most scenic natural surroundings and hiking trails. As Chico rests on some of the most fertile soil in the world, it yields a fabulous array of crops. There are thousands of acres of almond trees, plus groves of walnuts, peaches, and kiwis. There are many orchards to visit in the area.

Local Events

Looking for some artistic enjoyment? Be sure to check out Chico’s annual October Artoberfest! The entire month brings local Chico artists to the forefront with 150 exhibits, multiple art fairs, and live concerts.

Did someone say beer? We say Sierra Nevada Beer! Founded by Chico local homebrewers in 1979, Sierra Nevada Brewing has become the seventh-largest brewing company in the U.S. The brewery has been awarded for its practices in sustainability and offers numerous free tours.
